| The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts seeks a hands-on professional to lead a capable and service oriented HR team of five providing tactical and strategic services to the Center’s 1,200 employees. The Director of Human Resources is integral to all core HR functions, with responsibility for recruitment, employee and labor relations, benefits and compensation administration, welfare and retirement plans, and legislative compliance. The Center is seeking a high energy and experienced HR generalist with a record of accomplishments in a leadership position to serve an employee population that includes 50 Federal employees, 450 full time Trust employees, and 700 part-time employees. The successful candidate will be a strategic and analytical thinker, having strong problem solving and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of employees including union, non-union, and Federal employees. |
| Education/Experience/Skills |
| Requirements for the job include: 10+ years prior HR experience Demonstrated and effective supervisory skills Labor relations background A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field Solid business acumen Skilled in managing diversity and recruitment Budget management Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and compliance issues Ability to build and sustain productive relationships PHR or SPHR desired Non-profit and/or Federal government HR experience preferred Lawson HRIS experience a plus |
