About the Program

Artists:
Hailed as "a welcome addition to D.C.'s music community" by the Washington Post, the NSO's Principal Guest Conductor Iván Fischer conducts Mozart's joyful Flute Concerto No. 1 featuring Emmanuel Pahud, "the new master flutist" (London's The Guardian), whose recording of the work is a critical favorite.

Fischer also explores enchanting Bohemian folklore with a unique musical combination: an orchestration of Dvorák's Moravian Duets for two singers, interspersed with selections from Smetana's Má vlast including The Moldau.
