About the Program
Two world-class virtuoso musicians – Kennedy Center Honoree André Previn and "superbly gifted" (The New York Times) violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter - join forces for this one-night-only special concert. André Previn takes the podium for a program that includes Anne-Sophie Mutter in two thrilling works: Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 and Previn's own Concerto for Violin and Double Bass. The latter also features young Slovakian double bassist Roman Patkoló, who along with Mutter gave its world premiere in 2007. Maestro Previn rounds out the program with Haydn's Symphony No. 104 and an instrumental suite from Richard Strauss's comic opera Der Rosenkavalier.
