When the Kennedy Center's own music man, Marvin Hamlisch, promises to strike up the band, by golly he leads the best band in town. This Pops review of Meredith Willson's work begins with a medley of the songwriter's best-known tunes. After the intermission, a line-up of Broadway stars led by Rebecca Luker as Marian the Librarian, Patrick Cassidy as Harold Hill, and Shirley Jones as Mrs. Paroo sings the beloved songs of The Music Man including "Seventy-six Trombones," "My White Knight," and many more! The Pops will have audiences marching from "Rock Island" to "Gary, Indiana," and there will be no skipping the land this time, just rapt enjoyment of all the best of this five-time Tony Award–winning Broadway classic.

THE MUSIC MAN CONCERT VERSION is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). Program:
WILLSON - The Music Man

(in concert)
 - Note: this program will have one 15-minute intermission
