- Suzanne Farrell

On December 16th The Suzanne Farrell Ballet will answer an invitation from His Excellency, The Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey I. Kislyak. Suzanne will serve on the Honorary Cultural Committee while Company members, Michael Cook and Sara Ivan, are scheduled to perform highlights from Balanchine's 1928 Apollo. This lavish event will be hosted by the Firebird Foundation at the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC. We are deeply honored to be included in this celebration of Balanchine's heritage and culture.

Advancement Committee News

Fall Tour Sendoff Reception

On September 20th, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet and the Advancement Committee kicked off the Company's ninth anniversary season and the start of their national fall tour with a post performance reception at the Kennedy Center. The Company was honored to perform as part of the Center's Millennium Stage and provided a sneak peak of this season's repertoire with presentations of the Pas d'Action from Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15, Balanchine's legendary pas de deux style in Agon and Stars and Stripes, and the Scene d'Amour from Maurice Béjart's Romeo and Juliet. The evening was a wonderful celebration of The Suzanne Farrell Ballet and left all who attended eager for the Company's return to the Center in March.

McCarter Theatre Princeton Reception

Hosted by Advancement Committee members, Paul and Victoria Matus, the Company, Committee members, and other Farrell Ballet supporters, enjoyed an afternoon reception at the Witherspoon Grill in Princeton, New Jersey on October 4th. The cocktail reception, held in honor of The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, followed the Company's first performance of their mixed repertory program on their national fall tour. The enthusiasm of those in attendance was infectious and all enjoyed celebrating in the Company's continued growth and success on the national stage.
