Kirk Henning grew up in Momence, Illinois and began his ballet training at age seventeen with Watmora Casey and Avnun Yakabov. In 1999, Kirk joined the Dayton Ballet and in 2003 he won the Josie award for most outstanding performer in the Dayton area. Kirk joined Richmond Ballet in 2004 and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet in 2006. In 2007, he was nominated by Suzanne Farrell to receive the Movado Future Legends Award.
