Darius D. Barnes (Corps de ballet) began dancing at age 5, studying at various schools in Baltimore, MD. He attended Baltimore School for The Arts until his acceptance at the School of American Ballet in 2004. At the School of American Ballet, Darius received the Rudolf Nureyev Scholarship, and performed annually in the School of American Ballet Spring Workshops. In 2007, he was offered an apprentice with the New York City Ballet, and joined the corps de ballet 2008. He is currently a dancer at the Metropolitan Opera. As a choreographer he’s created several works and was asked to participate in the 2007, 8, & 9 spring & summer sessions of the New York Choreographic Institute. This is Darius' first season with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet.
