Sound

The songs and sound effects used for Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse were a combination of original new music by our sound designer, and other well known songs. In this production, music is used to fill the gaps between scenes and to help the show flow smoothly and quickly from scene to scene. During the time between scenes, set pieces may be removed or added or costumes might be changed. During a musical interlude, some actors may leave the stage and others might come on to the stage. The music makes these transitions more interesting and engaging for the audience. Sound effects are used to add bits of humor as well as to create real sounds that you might hear on any given day. In this production you can hear car horns, school bells, breaking glass, and even birds chirping.
