About the Artist

Emily Randle studied violin at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (B.M.) and the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, or CCM (M.M.). She is currently a member of The U.S. Army Strings (“Pershing’s Own”), stationed at Ft. Myer, VA. Prior to moving to the D.C. area, Ms. Randle was a member of The Louisville (KY) Orchestra, and then returned to her native Chicago to perform with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ravinia Festival, Joffrey Ballet, and Chicago Sinfonietta. As a jazz musician, she can be heard on the new release “Swing Gitan,” and on tour with Peter Mayer (lead guitarist for Jimmy Buffett). In addition to her violin playing, Ms. Randle has composed and produced two original musicals, studied orchestral conducting, and toured as bassist with the rock band Soulstice. Other hobbies include motorcycling and humming theme songs from 1970’s television shows, often simultaneously.

Jim Roberts has been a member of the U.S. Army Band (“Pershing’s Own Army Blues”) since 1986.
