JUDY KUHN
About the Artist
Judy Kuhn, playing Fosca in the Sondheim Celebration’s Passion, has been nominated for three Tony Awards and two Drama Desk Awards for her performances in The Roundabout’s hit revival of She Loves Me, and the American premieres of Chess and Les Miserables. Also on Broadway she appeared in Richard Nelson’s play Two Shakespearean Actors (Lincoln Center Theatre), Alan Menken and Tim Rice’s King David, The Mystery of Edwin Drood (NYSF), and Rags (Drama Desk Nomination). She created the role of Betty Schaefer in the U.S. premiere of Sunset Boulevard and starred in London’s West End in Metropolis for which she received a Laurence Olivier Award Nomination. Other theatre credits include Eli’s Comin’ at the Vineyard Theatre (Obie Award); the title role in The Ballad of Little Joe at the Steppenwolf Theatre Co. in Chicago (Jeff Award Nomination); the Drama Dept.’s revival of As Thousands Cheer, Dream True (Vineyard Theatre), Strike Up the Band (Encores!), The Glass Menagerie (MacArter Theatre), Martin Guerre (Hartford Stage), and Martha Clarke’s Endangered Species (BAM). She sang the title role in Disney’s Pocahontas as well as in the sequel Pocahontas: Journey To A New World. Television appearances include: Law & Order, All My Children, The Secret Life of Mary Margaret, My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies, The Kennedy Center Honors, The Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert, and In Performance At The White House. Ms. Kuhn can be heard on numerous original cast recordings as well as her solo album Just In Time: Judy Kuhn Sings Jules Styne. She is a member of the Drama Dept. and the Vinyard Theatre Community of Artists.
