NSO YOUTH ORCHESTRA DAY

About the Artist

The National Symphony Orchestra hosts an annual Youth Orchestra Day concert. This performance features some of the greater Washington D.C. area's most promising high school students, performing side-by-side with the National Symphony Orchestra musicians. This free concert is held in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, as a Millennium Stage presentation.

Youth Orchestra Day participants are recommended by musicians of the NSO and area youth orchestras such as the American Youth Philharmonic, DC Youth Orchestra, Maryland Classic Youth Philharmonic, Mount Vernon Youth Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestras of Prince William. After a few days of rehearsals and sectionals, these talented student musicians rehearse once with members of the NSO and then share stands with these NSO members in the Youth Orchestra Day Concert.
