TOM PRASADA-RAO

About the Artist

Photo of Tom Prasada-Rao

Tom Prasada-Rao burst onto the folk music scene in 1992 and has not let up since. ôVisually and musically, Tom is the most compelling presence to emerge in the singer-songwriter genre as I've seen in a long time,ö wrote Jim Bessman of Billboard. He has won awards, played major music festivals with many of his heroes, and headlined at singer-songwriter venues across the country. Mr. Prasada-Rao was born in Ethiopia of Indian parents and educated in England, the U.S., and India, and his music reflects the diversity of his upbringing. He blends pop melodies and R&B rhythms with acoustic guitar and instruments including the sitar. Recently, he entered the publishing business, with his first major songwriting credit on a Randy Travis album.
