About the Artist

Despite Diehl’s recent start singing on the jazz scene, he is no stranger as a musician. Endorsed by Maryland Drum where he keeps his home base, Diehl is a seasoned drummer who has toured extensively internationally and throughout the US. He is the drummer for jazz legends such as Ethel Ennis and has been with Moon August for over ten years. When not playing with his own trio, Ryan often performs with his father Ron Diehl. In the realm of big band, he has been a special guest artist with the U.S. Navy’s premier jazz ensemble the Commodores and was a jazz performance major at Towson University where he studied under Hank Levy, playing in his big band. Diehl has also studied with such jazz giants as Dennis Chambers, John Riley and Adam Neusbaum.
