ANDREJ ROZMAN ROZA
About the Artist
Andrej Rozman Roza, poet, dramatist and actor, was born in Ljubljana in 1955, and studied Slovene Language and Literature at the University of Ljubljana. He started his theatre career in 1979 as a founding member of the street theatre group "Pocestno gledališce Predrazpadom." Between 1982-1995, he was head of the independent theatre group Gledališce Ane Monro, where he started the very popular "theater sports." He appeared regularly in films and enjoyed wide popularity on TV with highly successful advertisements for Slovene Lottery from 1989-2001. In 2003, he established his own theater "Rozinteater," giving solo performances for children and small-cast or solo performances for adults. He has translated works from Shakespeare (A Midsummer Night Dream, The Tempest) and Broadway shows (Grease, The Sound of Music) into Slovenian for bigger theaters.
