“Concerts for Young People by Young People”: The Capitol Jazz Project
Participants in this partnership between Washington Performing Arts Society and DC Public Schools in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center showcase their musicianship and performance style. Having its roots in the New York jazz tradition, the Armand Hirsch Trio explores modern gospel, world percussion, Brazilian song, progressive rock, classical aesthetics, and the lexicon of American soul music. Emphasizing singable, lingering melodies and frontiers in harmony and rhythm, this group reinvents the organ trio setting.

The NSO Youth Fellowship Emerald Quartet features violinists Jessica and Katelyn Lyons, viola player Aiden Kane, and cellist Ryan Hintzman.
