Rug Merchants of Chaos

Pasadena Playhouse, CA

Rug Merchants of Chaos is a comedy about a married couple and 15 years of shady business ventures. Constantly on the brink of disaster, the couple nevertheless manages to avoid ruin, relying on escape routes delivered by chance and which require leaps of faith almost beyond reason.

Ronald Ribman is the author of Cold Storage, winner of the 1976-77 Hull-Warriner Award of the Dramatists Guild. He wrote the Obie Award-winning The Journey Of The Fifth Horse, which starred Dustin Hoffman. Both of these plays, as well as The Ceremony of Innocence, have been produced for television. His other works for television include the Emmy-nominated The Final War of Olly Winter for CBS Playhouse; an adaptation for PBS of Saul Bellow's novel, Seize the Day, starring Robin Williams; and the American Playhouse production of his adaptation of Warren Adler's The Sunset Gang.
