The 2014 National Symphony Orchestra
Season Opening Ball
Sunday, September 21, 2014
We hope you will be able to join us to launch the 84th season of the National Symphony Orchestra, at which time we will welcome new Kennedy Center President Deborah Rutter to Washington D.C. We are incredibly fortunate to have her brilliant leadership, and for this historic moment at the Center, we aim to demonstrate the incomparable support of our loyal patrons.
At this year's event, chaired by Catherine and Wayne Reynolds, we will celebrate the music and food of France. The performance will combine Classical and Pops featuring both the awe-inspiring Joshua Bell and the brilliant soprano, Kelli O'Hara, with NSO and Kennedy Center Music Director Christoph Eschenbach sharing the podium with Principal Pops conductor Steven Reineke. Following the concert, the gala festivities continue with an elegant dinner and dancing in a grand pavilion on the South Plaza. All proceeds of the evening support the Orchestra's many artistic, education, and community engagement programs throughout the year. If you would like more information on the Season Opening Ball, please call (202) 416-8102 or to join us for this special night, please click here to Register Online.
Now is the time to mark your calendars for this remarkable and extraordinary celebration!
David and Alice Rubenstein are the Presenting Underwriters of the NSO.
The NSO Music Director Chair is generously endowed by Roger and Vicki Sant.
