Telephones

Public telephones equipped with volume controls can be found on the "motor lobbies," as well as in the lobby of the Interpretive/Film Theater near the Hall of States entrance.

A TTY is available at the Public Information Desk in the Hall of States and at the public payphones on the Hall of States side of Parking Level A.

Assistive Listening Devices

Infrared assistive listening devices are available at all performances in the Concert Hall, Opera House, Eisenhower Theater, Terrace Theater, and Theater Lab. Assistive listening devices for performances at the Millennium Stage, Interpretive/Film Theater, or in the Atrium/Terrace Gallery are provided upon request with at least one weeks notice by calling (202) 416-8727 (Voice) or (202) 416-8728 (TTY).

Headsets may be used with or without a hearing aid and are distributed free of charge (subject to availability). Patrons attending performances at the Eisenhower Theater or Opera House may pick up headsets at the desk in the Hall of States near the Grand Foyer; the Concert Hall from the coat rooms in the Hall of Nations; the Terrace Theater and Theater Lab at the Box Office in the North Gallery. Patrons will be asked to leave an ID and their phone numbers when they pick up their headsets. These will be returned when the headset is returned at the end of the performance.

Sign Language Interpretation

Sign language-interpreted performances for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing are scheduled for Kennedy Center Theater Series shows, children's performances, and Explore the Arts events as well as some lecture series. Check the descriptions of individual engagements for the dates and times of these performances, or search our calendar for a complete list of sign interpreted performances [leaves text-only site]. Cued speech transliteration is available upon request with at least three weeks notice and will be provided based on the availability of a qualified transliterator and at the discretion of the management. Parking

Parking spaces for persons with disabilities are available in the Kennedy Center Garage for vehicles bearing handicapped parking stickers or license plates. Please ask the garage personnel to direct you to these parking spaces. These spaces are restricted to vehicles with a clearance of less than 6 feet. For information on van accessible spaces, call the Kennedy Center Garage at (202) 416-7980, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
