In March 2007 public TV stations throughout the U.S. broadcast "Through Deaf Eyes," a production of WETA Washington, D.C. and Florentine Films/Hott Productions, in association with Gallaudet University. The two-hour documentary explores nearly 200 years of Deaf life in America. Using historic footage and interviews with community leaders, historians and youth, the film presents diverse views on language use, technology and identity. The documentary included films by Deaf filmmakers who provided a personal perspective: "Audism", by Rene Visco.; "Destination Eyeth", by Arthur Luhn; "Listen", by Kimby Caplan; "Vital Signs", by Wayne Betts, Jr; "That's My Marshmallow", by Tracey Salaway; and "Equilibrium", by Adrean Mangiardi.
