Cuban jazz pianist Alfredo RodrÃguez returns to the Kennedy Center after a successful appearance in NPR's annual A Jazz Piano Christmas program in 2011. The 26-year-old pianist and composer was discovered by Quincy Jones more than 5 years ago and immediately began working with the renowned producer. At a young age, RodrÃguez has already played at many prestigious jazz festivals, including Monterey, Newport, and multiple international festivals. His early and deserved success lies in his "grace under pressure and talent for finding emotional truth in the split-second fall of a piano key" (Los Angeles Times).
Performance Timing: 75 minutes, with no intermission.
