Drummer Carl Allen, Artistic Director of Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School, returns to the KC Jazz Club for an evening of music with his Quartet. The Washington Post praises Allen, "a physical, hard swinging drummer of the Art Blakey school--[for pushing] his band mates to abandon their cool reserve so they can testify as if shouting out in church."
