Hailed by the London Times as a "rising star of the piano," Icelandic pianist and graduate of the Juilliard School Víkingur Ólafsson has collaborated with musicians ranging from Björk to Martin Fröst and has performed under the baton of conductors including Vladimir Ashkenazy and Roberto Abbado. On a program highlighting Nordic composers, Ólafsson plays classic works by Brahms, Sibelius, Tómasson, Debussy, Grieg, Ísólfsson, Kaldalóns and Wagner, as well as pieces by the contemporary Icelandic composer Snorri Sigfús Birgisson.
