Visual Art Exhibition - Sep. 15 - Nov. 1
VSA arts is pleased to present the work of 15 emerging artists with disabilities in the Kennedy Center's Hall of States in celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness month. In 1988 Congress designated this month to educate the public about issues related to disability and the employment needs of all individuals. The display features art by the awardees of Accelerate, the 2009 juried exhibition sponsored by VSA arts and Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., on display at the Smithsonian Institution's S. Dillon Ripley Center from September 10, 2009 to January 6, 2010. The collaboration encourages the next generation of artists by validating, and providing financial assistance toward, their life-defining career choices.
This event is FREE and is open to the public daily, during open hours at The Kennedy Center.
