Dr. Billy Taylor (1921–2010), Artistic Director for Jazz at the Kennedy Center and a member of The ASCAP Foundation board, was instrumental in establishing the 2010 program. In his honor, tonight’s program hosted by D.C. songwriters and Grammy Award winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer focuses on jazz: vocalist/composer Sonia Szajnberg and her band, and pianist/composer Zaccai Curtis who will play with the Curtis Brothers Quartet. Presented by The ASCAP Foundation and made possible by the Bart Howard Estate.
