Gospel legends Maggie Ingram and the Ingramettes of Richmond, Virginia—whose career in gospel music spans nearly 55 years—a cappella group Naturally 7, and urban jazz harmonicist Frédéric Yonnet kick off a three-day celebration of the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial. NOTE: This performance is FREE, tickets are required. Reserved seating tickets, two per person, will be distributed on the day of the performance, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Hall of Nations.

James A. Johnson Young Artist Series: The Yale Whiffenpoofs come to the Millennium Stage for an evening of a cappella music. Founded in 1909, the ‘Whiffs” began as a quartet of Yale seniors. Today, the group has become one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions and is the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. This performance is part of the James A. Johnson Young Artist Series, made possible by Target.

School Without Walls

School Without Walls, a Kennedy Center D.C. Partnership Initiative School, presents a musical evening featuring their eight-piece Stage Band and Concert Choir. The band will present a variety of contemporary popular music from the 1950s to the present day, while the choir, comprised of 25 students, will perform standard concert music. Free general admission tickets will be distributed in the States Gallery starting at approximately 5:30 p.m., up to two tickets per person.
