In an evening curated by award-winning actress, director, playwright, and Artistic Director of the DC Hip-Hop Theatre Festival Kamilah Forbes, Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Gregory Porter's music is blended with the spoken word, highlighting works and performances by poets Holly Bass, Mahogany Browne, Vanessa Hidary, and Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai. Tickets required. Tickets will be distributed in the North Gallery/Roof Terrace Level, one per person in line, starting at 5 p.m. on November 12. Limited availability.

Sofya Melikyan

Armenian-born pianist Sofya Melikyan is recognized as an artist with a unique voice and enthusiastic zeal for her work. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, she performs compositions by Aram Khachaturian, Komitas Vardapet, Eduard Sadoyan, Alexander Arutunian, and Arno Babadjanian. 

Presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Armenia.

Xuejuan Dance Ensemble

Xuejuan Dance Ensemble performs on the Millennium Stage. Formed in 2009, its mission is to bring together dancers and dance enthusiasts of different ages, backgrounds, and dance experiences, with a common interest in Chinese folk and classical dance. As a group, ensemble members study classical and folk techniques and learn iconic, award-winning repertoire, as well as original choreographic works in each dance style, including Tibetan, Mongolian, Dai, Miao, Yang Ge, Uygur, and Chinese classical dance.
