Listen Local First D.C. and The Holiday 9 Songwriter Showcase present their fifth annual holiday extravaganza, a show with nine of the area’s most talented songwriters and musicians—Gina Sobel, Gingerwolf, Flex Matthews, Drew Kid, Justin Trawick, Joe Maye, Saba Abraha, Janel Leppin, and Alison Carney—collaborating to present an evening of traditional and seasonal songs for the entire family.

IN THE FAMILY THEATER
Join rock-star computer programmer Mark Vigeant as he takes audience suggestions and builds and launches a completely new original website onstage—that is, if he can overcome his ego. Check out previous websites built at http://letsmakeaweb.site. (With special help from Kevin J. Dolan.)
This program contains mature themes and strong language.
Free general admission tickets will be distributed in the Hall of States starting at approximately 5 p.m., up to two tickets per person.

National Cherry Blossom Festival: Kana Uemera

Japanese singer, songwriter, and guitarist Kana Uemura sings J-Pop (Japanese pop music) and American pop music, including her original songs in both English and Japanese at the concert. The New York City-based artist’s concert will be appealing to both young and old generations in all races who love music.
Presented in collaboration with the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Abraham Brody brings Lithuanian traditions into the contemporary music and collaborations he creates. Collaborating with Lithuanian vocal TRYS KETURIOSE (singing ancient ritual sutartines), Brody illuminates through a contemporary lense the strong connection to the ancient traditions that these cultures offer.
