Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program

Overview

Starting Date –
The Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program is a two year program for singers, coach-accompanists, conductors, and directors. The contracted period is from approximately September through May.
Stipend –
Each Young Artist receives a monthly stipend of $2,500 during their residency in the Program as well as $350 for health insurance reimbursement. In addition to the stipend, Young Artists are paid AGMA rates when performing or covering roles on the main stage of Washington National Opera.
Age Limit –
There is no age limit for the Young Artist Program, though nearly all applicants are in their twenties.

All Young Artists in the program participate in vocal and dramatic coaching, voice lessons, daily intensive language classes, master classes, and have access to career development resources, numerous performance opportunities, both through the Program and on the main stage.

How to Apply

The Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program is currently accepting applications from singers and pianists for the 2013-14 season. Applications will close September 28, 2012.

The Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program uses a YAP Tracker application for all submissions. You do not need to be a paying subscriber to YAP Tracker to use the application form, although you will need an account. Applications for the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program for the 2013-14 season are currently closed.

YAP Tracker is a third-party website, and you will be providing your information to YAP Tracker, not to the Kennedy Center.
