Dancers from the Jones-Haywood Dance School


Dancers from the Jones-Haywood Dance School located in Washington. D.C. The school has been in existence for 75 years and has graduated students highly trained in dance and arts education. Jones-Haywood students have gone on to advance their careers as dancers in The Alvin Alley American Dance Theatre, The Washington Ballet and the Royal Netherlands Ballet Company. They have worked as: Choreographers and Actors on Stage, film and in television, Dance Educators and other related professions.

Video 3/16/2019: Youth Arts EXPLOSION … Moving Full STEAM Ahead!

The Reston Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and the Washington, DC Chapter of The Society Incorporated, co-sponsors a bi-annual “Youth Arts Showcase Explosion … Moving Full STEAM Ahead” event, in collaboration with the Community Initiatives Education Division of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This year, six exceptionally talented African American High School seniors, from the DMV area, will showcase their talents on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium stage. Each competing student will be awarded a scholarship for advancing their education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM). Also, separate workshops will be held with parents of the students, and with the students to provide guidance on, “Having a Successful College Experience”, and, “Paving the Way to a Successful Performing Career.
