Jennifer Jenkins


Jennifer Jenkins is the owner and solo violinist of Jenviolin LLC. She has been playing the violin for nearly 20 years. Jennifer sat first chair at Renaissance High School (Detroit, MI) and received a stipend to join the Hampton University Orchestra (Hampton, VA). She has played with several string quartets and jazz ensembles and has won numerous awards for solo and group performances. Jennifer is classically trained, but her most popular genres to perform are jazz, R&B, neo soul, and hip-hop. Inspired by violinists such as Jean-Luc Ponty and Regina Carter, she has also been influenced by a variety of singers and musicians of other instruments. Jennifer has provided entertainment for corporate and non-profit events, book/brand launches, wedding expos, and networking events. She has also been recorded as part of original compositions.

Video 3/16/2019: Youth Arts EXPLOSION … Moving Full STEAM Ahead!

The Reston Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and the Washington, DC Chapter of The Society Incorporated, co-sponsors a bi-annual “Youth Arts Showcase Explosion … Moving Full STEAM Ahead” event, in collaboration with the Community Initiatives Education Division of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This year, six exceptionally talented African American High School seniors, from the DMV area, will showcase their talents on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium stage. Each competing student will be awarded a scholarship for advancing their education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM). Also, separate workshops will be held with parents of the students, and with the students to provide guidance on, “Having a Successful College Experience”, and, “Paving the Way to a Successful Performing Career.
