MK Zulu


Jared "MK Zulu" Bailey is a lyricist/trumpeter hailing from PG County, Maryland. Graduating from Howard in 2013 with a Bachelor's in Music Business, he later received his Master's in Jazz Performance from Rutgers University. Since then, he has performed and taught in the DMV area through a variety of different outlets. Aside from performing with DC's very own DuPont Brass, MK Zulu is an artist in his own right, using his various musical skills to break down the genre walls built by the music industry. MK Zulu has had the opportunity to perform at some of the city's most prominent venues and events, including The Atlas Performing Arts Center, The Howard Theatre, and The H Street Festival. His latest project "The R.A.N.T.S. Experiment" was released at the top of Spring 2019 and is available on all major streaming services.
