DC Strings Workshop

Biography

Entering its fourth season, DC Strings Workshop is a DC-based non-profit which hosts several ensembles that perform to the joy of the DC community, with an emphasis of bringing music to all parts of our city. Since its founding in late-2016, the organization has presented over 50 concerts, including a mix of recitals, workshops, presentations, masterclasses and orchestra performances engaging a diverse roster of musicians. Local composers and artists fill the ensemble and bring new musical ideas, instrumentation and possibilities. Holiday performances of Handel's beloved Messiah and other oratorios are particularly beloved by the Capitol Hill and Anacostia Communities and have continued for over 7-years. DC Strings Workshop has brought its artists and ensembles to libraries, museums, parks, senior centers and schools throughout the District community. The organization strives to foster a more equitable and diverse portrait of the talent and possibilities that exists in classical music.
