Enrico Iori

Enrico Iori studied at the Conservatory of Parma, and attended master classes with Lucetta Bizzi, Carlo Bergonzi and Carlo Meliciani. A renowned Verdian bass, he made his debut in 1996, since then he performed in important opera houses and concert halls including Teatro alla Scala, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro Filarmonico and Arena di Verona, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, Teatro Valli di Reggio ilia, Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, Macerata Opera Festival, Opera de Montpellier, Teatro Saõ Carlos in Lisbon, Festival de Avenches and Bolshoj Theatre in Moscow. He worked with such important conductors as Bruno Bartoletti, Bruno Campanella, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Georges Pretre, Renato Palumbo, Donato Renzetti, Carlo Rizzi, Jeffrey Tate, and such directors as Daniele Abbado, Liliana Cavani, Denis Krief, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Lamberto Puggelli, Luca Ronconi, ilio Sagi, Franco Zeffirelli. His repertory includes such roles as Oroveso (style Norma), Giorgio (style I Puritani), Raimondo (Lammermoor), Don Basilio (style Il barbiere di Siviglia), Alfonso (style Lucrezia Borgia), Colline (style La style boheme), Timur (style Turandot), Oberto (style Oberto, Conte di San Bonifacio), Zaccaria (style Nabucco), Silva (style Ernani), Attila (style Attila), Banco (style Macbeth), Walter (style Luisa Miller), Sparafucile (style Rigoletto), Fiesco (style Simon Boccanegra), Padre Guardiano (style La forza del destino), Filippo II (style Don Carlo), Re (style Aida). He recorded several titles, such as style Aida (Zeffirelli production in Busseto), style Aroldo (Pier Luigi Pizzi production), style Lucia di Lammermoor and style Lucrezia Borgia (from Festival Donizetti di Bergamo), style Macbeth (dvd; live from Teatro Regio di Parma). During the 2010/11 season he performed style La style forza del destino and style Aida at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and in tournee in Tokyo under the baton of Zubin Mehta, style La Wally in Frankfurt, style Il trovatore (Ferrando) at the Teatro Politeama in Lecce, style Lucia di Lammermoor (Raimondo) at the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, style Turandot (Timur) at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago. He also made his much awaited Teatro alla Scala debutemperforming the title role of Verdi style Attila. He opened the 2011/12 season performing style Don Carlo (Filippo II) at the Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon, followed by style Ernani (Don Ruy Gomez de Silva) in Sassari, style La Damnation de Faust (Brander) at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, style La battaglia di Legnano (Federico Barbarossa) at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste and style Norma (Oroveso) at the Teatro Regio di Torino. Among his future plans are, style Ernani (Don Ruy Gomez de Silva) at the Teatro Ponchielli in Cr ona, style Rigoletto (Sparafucile) at the Metropolitan in New York, and style La forza del destino (Padre Guardiano) at the Washington National Opera. style June 2013
