Toni Marie Marchioni joins the NSO as Acting Second Oboe for the 2017/2018 season. Recently, she has been a featured artist at the Moab Music Festival; in Carnegie Hall collected stories festival; for the Stefan Wolpe Society; and at New York's contemporary music venue Spectrum. She has also performed with the Atlanta Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, Grant Park Orchestra, IRIS Orchestra, American Ballet Theater, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Carnegie Hall's Ensemble Connect. Additionally, Marchioni was a semi-finalist at the Boulder International Chamber Music Competition and is a frequentemperformer at conferences of the International Double Reed Society. She has served on the faculties of the University of Kentucky and University of Georgia, as well as the New Harmony Music Festival, American Festival for the Arts, and the Las Vegas Music Festival. Marchioni holds degrees from Harvard University and The Juilliard School as a student of Elaine Douvas, Eugene Izotov, Pedro Diaz, and Mark McEwen.
