Emma Powell is currently pursuing her master degree in violin performance at the Rice University Shepherd School of Music where she studies with Paul Kantor. In past years her summer festival experiences have included Spoleto Festival USA, the Tanglewood Music Center, and working as a production intern at Music@Menlo. In 2017, she graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory/Musicology where she studied privately with Sunghae Anna Lim. An avid chamber musician, she was a founding member and president of Opus 21, a chamber players ensemble dedicated to bringing classical music to the Princeton University community and beyond. She now performs regularly as a member of KINETIC, a 16-person conductorless ensemble based in Houston. Aside from performing she enjoys coaching chamber groups in the Michael P. Hammond Prep Program at Shepherd, and teaching privately in the area.
