A 3rd generation native of the DC area, Donald Shore was the principal bassoonist with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra from 1984-2014. His teachers included Walter Maciejewicz, Linda Harwell, Phillip Kolker, Kenneth Pasmanick, David Carroll, and Christopher Weait. A graduate of The University of Toronto where he was awarded the Eaton Graduating Scholarship, Mr.Shore appeared a soloist with the National Symphony, the Beethoven Pops, and the Virginia Chamber Orchestras. He was also principal bassoonist with the Post Classical ensemble and the Wolf Trap Opera Orchestra, and appeared in a number of performances on the Millennium Stage, as well as in a solo appearance at Carnegie Hall. He accompanied a routine by the great Steve Martin.
