The Kennedy Center invites you and your entire family to join Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and the Nutcracker Prince in a cherished holiday tradition, this year hailing from one of the most culturally vibrant cities in the American heartland. Don't miss the D.C. premiere of Cincinnati Ballet's delightfully sweet staging of The Nutcracker!
Revel in all the magic and wonder of the classic fairy tale with this colorful production bursting with whimsical stage effects, awe-inspiring acrobatics, Artistic Director Victoria Morgan's entrancing choreography, and Tchaikovsky's legendary score. You'll find it impossible to resist this wondrous journey to the Land of Sweets, where exotic celebrations and fantastic characters abound, from battling mice and tumbling snowballs to dancing poodles and cupcakes.
Cincinnati Ballet marks its first full-company engagement at the Kennedy Center with this "fresh and inspiring" (Cincinnati Enquirer) adventure. Following tradition, dozens of local children will join the dancers on stage, while Arlington Children's Chorus members will lend their voices to the dazzling Snow Scene.

Recommended for age 5 and up.

Performance Timing: Act One - 40 min.; Intermission - 20 min.; Act Two - 38 min.

UPDATE as of 11/14: The Nutcracker signing on Fri., Nov. 25 has been cancelled. Christian Ulbricht has cancelled his travel to the U.S. for family reasons.
