DIRECT CURRENT

After a jam session at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, three queens of the Americana/folk/bluegrass scene—Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan, and Sara Watkins—knew they had to set out on tour together. On the road, I’m With Her was born. Their individual backgrounds as vocalists and multi-instrumentalists seamlessly blend into a unique sound, creating unforgettable songs layered with elegant technical skill, expressive lyrics, and impressive harmonies.

About

Known for its “searing musicianship and tender vocals” (The Guardian), female folk supergroup I’m With Her is made up of Sara Watkins, a founding member of Grammy Award®–winning bluegrass outfit Nickel Creek; Sarah Jarosz, a Grammy Award®–winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist; and Aoife O’Donovan, the Grammy Award®–winning lead singer of progressive string band Crooked Still. The trio makes its DIRECT CURRENT debut with this performance. "Outstanding" (The New York Times) string ensemble Verona Quartet (Jonathan Ong and Dorothy Ro, violins; Abigail Rojansky, viola; Jonathan Dormand, cello, representing four different nations: the US, UK, Singapore, and Canada) will join them as special guests for select musical numbers.

After their 2016 performance at Chris Thile’s curated American Acoustic festival (along with the Punch Brothers, Béla Fleck, and Edgar Meyer), they return for a one-night-only concert with internally-renowned Verona Quartet.

Their individual backgrounds as vocalists and multi-instrumentalists seamlessly blend into a unique sound, creating unforgettable songs layered with elegant technical skill, expressive lyrics, and impressive harmonies.
