The former NYCB principal dancer Damian Woetzel curates and hosts an evening of recent commissions and D.C. premieres from some of today’s most creative voices in dance and music.

Damian Woetzel, the former New York City Ballet Principal Dancer turned director, choreographer, producer, and president of The Juilliard School continues to unite bright talents from diverse art forms in cross-genre performances focused around fascinating themes. Previous shows in this series have featured Broadway and NYCB star Tiler Peck, iconic dancer and actress Carmen de Lavallade, gifted singer/ songwriter Kate Davis, Tony®-winning actor Bill Irwin, tap dance revolutionary Michelle Dorrance, and a special DEMO commission choreographed by Bessie Award winner Pam Tanowitz set to a composition by Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw.

DEMO: Now will feature a world premiere by acclaimed choreographer John Heginbotham (whose choreography for a bold new production of Oklahoma! will be seen on Broadway this spring), featuring dancers of Dance Heginbotham and the Juilliard String Quartet!  This unique DEMO event will also bring together composer Caroline Shaw, dancers Patricia Delgado and Caleb Teicher, Hamilton musical director and pianist Kurt Crowley, poet Sarah Kay, and pianist Joel Wenhardt, in an exciting program of new collaborations curated by Damian Woetzel!

Performance Timing: 80 minutes, with no intermission.
