After their resounding Fortas debut in 2012, we’re excited to welcome back these gifted chamber artists. While they shot to stardom in Germany after only two years together, winning the prestigious Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award in 2010 elevated them to true international acclaim. This season, the trio offers a delightful 20th-century work alongside a Mendelssohn trio and a lighthearted favorite by Schubert—all with the same “polished technique and musical imagination” that made its last Kennedy Center performance a “night to remember” (The Washington Post).

A Note from Joseph "Yossi" Kalichstein, Artistic Director of Fortas

I’m so glad this magnificent young trio is crossing the Atlantic again to come to our shores—especially since they’re performing one of the most delicious works we have this season, the Schubert B-flat. As I look at their program, all I can think of is this: a German trio playing music by German, Austrian, and Swiss-Dutch composers in an American hall that initially was a Japanese gift to the Kennedy Center! Music is truly international.
