Pamela Frank, violin
Stephen Prutsman, piano

One of the first women to win the Avery Fisher Prize, American violinist Pamela Frank has established herself as a renowned virtuoso. A compelling solo artist “whose polish and expressive depth seem to wrap themselves around whatever she touches” (Cleveland Plain Dealer), she unites with pianist Stephen Prutsman for a performance of Bach's sonatas.

Regretfully, Peter Serkin has had to withdraw from this performance because of health issues.

Sonata in B minor, BWV 1014
Sonata in A major, BWV 1015
Sonata in E major, BWV 1016
Sonata in C minor, BWV 1017
Sonata in F minor, BWV 1018
Sonata in G major, BWV 1019

A Note from Joseph “Yossi” Kalichstein, Artistic Director of Fortas Chamber Music
A rarity by comparison to their much more often-played “cousins,” the solo violin sonatas/partitas, these six sonatas are just as inspired and as riveting. Bach at his instrumental best! What a joy to be hearing them played by these two great musicians!
