This new series of free workshops designed for families with children under the age of 8 explores the power of the arts to promote wellness of the mind and body.

Tickets are not required, but because this event involves physical activity, all participants must sign a waiver prior to participating. Participants may sign a waiver electronically using the link below or in person at the time of the workshop, but spaces are first come, first served, with priority granted to those who have signed a waiver in advance online. Advanced registration has now closed.

Arts on the Horizon was founded as a professional, non-profit theatre company with a unique and specific focus of providing performances and education programs specifically designed for young people ages 0 to 6 years old. We were the first theatre company in the United States to specifically focus on creating original, nonverbal plays for this age group.
Each education program provides targeted exploration of themes and ideas in order to help children enhance their language development, socialization, and fine and gross motor skills. Our classes take place in a meaningful, nurturing environment where children can develop their sense of self and increase their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
In 2016, Arts on the Horizon was honored to be nominated for The John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company. Last year, we were awarded a “50 for 50” Arts Inspiration Award by the Virginia Commission for the Arts in the category of “Emerging Arts Organization.” And two of our productions were nominated for the 2018 Helen Hayes Awards in the “Outstanding Production – Theater for Young Audiences” category.
