About

The fearless and feisty Cynthia Erivo joins the NSO and Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke for two nights! Celebrate the strengths of womanhood as Erivo gives voice to music made famous by the greatest female singers of all time including Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Beyoncé, and more.

With a Grammy®, Emmy®, and Tony® under her belt, Cynthia Erivo just needs that Oscar®. And following her revelatory, star-making lead role on Broadway’s The Color Purple (Oprah called her performance "transcendent"), her journey to cinematic stardom is well underway. She's recently made Hollywood headlines following her performances in Steve McQueen’s Widows (with Viola Davis and Liam Neeson) and Bad Times at the El Royale (alongside Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, and Jon Hamm). This year, Erivo stars in Harriet, in which she plays none other than Harriet Tubman, and if she wins an Oscar in the next seven years she'll be the youngest star ever to achieve EGOT status. Don't miss her debut with the National Symphony Orchestra—you'll want to tell your friends you knew her when!
