A group of talented young musicians from Cartagena and San Basilio de Palenque will combine their talents to perform Colombian Afro Caribbean Music for a unique cultural exchange in Washington, D.C. The visiting ensemble performs a fusion of orchestra accompanied by alegre, tambora, llamador drums, maracas, guache, and marimbula. This cultural initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Colombian Chancellery seeks to incite intercultural dialogue, pacific coexistence, and social inclusion for communities on the Pacific Coast of Colombia that have been affected by violence and criminal organizations.

Presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Colombia.
