Strathmore Artist in Residence Calista Garcia is a singer-songwriter who brings a mix of lyrical complexity and musical sophistication to her folk-rock and blues sound that harkens back to ’70s classic acts such as Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and Joni Mitchell. Even though she is still in high school, Garcia’s study of human emotion allows her to deliver lyrics beyond her age and reveal stories that are yet to be lived.
MERRY TUBACHRISTMAS!

IN THE CONCERT HALL. Free tickets will be distributed in the Hall of Nations starting at approximately 4:00 p.m., up to two tickets per person.
This year marks the 46th anniversary of MERRY TUBACHRISTMAS!, founded by Harvey Phillips, in which hundreds of tuba, sousaphone, and euphonium players from around Washington, D.C. play traditional Christmas music.
If you wish to perform along with your tuba or sousaphone, please arrive at 4:00 p.m. for rehearsal.

Join us for a soon-to-be-announced work by NEWorks Production. American producer, music director, and curator Nolan Williams, Jr. founded NEWorks in order to produce inspirational arts programming. NEWorks partners with leading humanitarian, educational, and arts institutions to present curatorial festivals, concert productions, special events, and other signature projects that leverage the power of music and the arts for community engagement and social good.

Honors Week Tribute—Sesame Street Sing-Along

Join noted D.C. musical theater performers in saluting Sesame Street with a Sesame Street Sing-Along! Come sing along to 50 years of classic songs led by D.C. favorites with piano accompaniment, interspersed with popular musical segments from the show. An event for kids and former kids to enjoy together!
