Detroit techno collides with a string orchestra when legendary "godfather of techno" Juan Atkins DJs over arrangements by Kennedy Center Composer-in-Residence Mason Bates.
With a career spanning 40 years, iconic pioneer Juan Atkins was instrumental in the sound of early techno through his Cybotron project quickly followed by his founding of the seminal Detroit electro label Metroplex. He continues to inspire current generation artists through solo projects as well as high profile global collaborations including Dub techno legend - Moritz von Oswald and a forthcoming relaunch of the Cybotron project partnering with Kraftwerk co-founder - Wolfgang Flür.
This rare U.S. performance features performances by Grammy®-nominated ensemble Inscape under conductor Richard Scerbo as well as a Detroit inspired DJ performance from Jukebox resident – DJ Justin Reed.
