Tony Ballog was born into a legendary family of gypsy violinists and started playing the violin at age 7. In high school, he received the first place award for four consecutive years in regional and national violin competitions. Following the completion of his high school education, Tony attended the University of Miami and studied with George Zozoffsky and Louis Krasner. He has since performed with highly respected world class musicians, such as Kruno Spicic, John Jorgenson, Doug Martin, Adrian Moignard, Benoit Convert, Gonzalo Bergara, Robin and Kevin Nolen, and Howard Levy. Tony's professional career began at age 17. He has since performed with the Miami and Las Vegas Symphonies and was featured at the National Folk Festival with his gypsy ensemble. He has also played as a guest soloist for many corporate private functions for the rich and famous including governor Michael Stanley Dukakis, James Blanchard, Imelda Marcos, Sylvester Stallone, Kirk Douglas, as well as at Donald Trump’s wedding at Muir Largo. Additionally, he has since performed for many of the Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Ballog has since performed with numerous jazz, folklore, and classical musicians all across North America and Europe, such as DjangoFest NorthWest. For six years Mr. Ballog spent his Wednesday nights playing with Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan at Chicago’s famous jazz club, the Green Mill. In 2010, he was featured at Millennium Park in Chicago for the hundredth birthday of Django Reinhardt. Mr. Ballog also performed at the grand opening of the new wing of the Art Institute in Chicago. Jason is a veteran rhythm guitarist in swing and gypsy jazz music and Joe Kyle, the string bass player, is a very well respected gypsy jazz player. Jason and Joe are both originally from the bay area while Tony recently made the move to the San Francisco bay area in July, 2011 to join th.
