Jazelle "Chief Jaz" Hunt is a dancer and storyteller, weaving musicality and rhythm into her writing career, and narrative and color into her dance instruction style. A Trinidadian-American raised in New Jersey, Jazelle first arrived in D.C. in 2005 as a Howard University student, fell in love with the city and simply never left. As Soka Tribe's director and lead instructor, Jazelle strives to bring the joy, freedom, and camaraderie of Caribbean carnival to every class.
