Nancy Richer

Nancy Richer (Corps de ballet) was born and raised in New York City. She received the majority of her training at Ballet Academy East. She attended summer programs at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Kaatsban, American Ballet Theater, and San Francisco Ballet School. At 16 she appeared in an instructional ballet video for the teacher, David Howard, entitled A Dancer's Class.' At 17, she received a merit scholarship to train for the year round program at the San Francisco Ballet School after attending the summer course. She was selected as an inaugural member of the Los Angeles Ballet. While in Los Angeles Ms. Richer danced many soloist and principal roles, most notably George Balanchine's Tarantella,' Who Cares?' and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2.' as well as The Rose' in The Nutcracker. Ms. Richer has also been selected to participate as a dancer in the National Choreographer's Initiative at UC Irvine. She has also danced for Avi Scher and Dancers since its inception.
