Formed by violinist Machiko Ozawa, Urban Tango Trio has dazzled audiences in New York, D.C., South Carolina, Virginia, and Japan. The trio is made up of three talented virtuoso musicians: Machiko Ozawa, former concert master of Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de Las Artes, on violin; Latin-Grammy winner Octavio Brunetti on piano; and acclaimed composer/arranger Pedro Giraudo on bass. Together they capture the passion and excit ent of Argentine tango in a repertoire ranging from traditional favorites to contemporary interpretations. Violinist Machiko Ozawa has given numerous solo recitals in the U.S. and Japan at major venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, and Nikkei Hall, among others. Ms. Ozawa received her formal training from The Juilliard School, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Tokyo National University of the Arts (Tokyo Gei Dai). Tango pianist Octavio Brunetti has since performed with many of Argentina’s most important tango musicians and singers. Mr. Brunetti has since performed in numerous music festivals throughout the U.S., Europe, and South America. With his main ensemble, OCTAVIO BRUNETTI TANGO QUINTET, he has appeared at the Kaufmann Hall, Jamaica Center for the Arts, and the New York City Center. Bassist, composer, and arranger Pedro Giraudo has since performed in a wide variety of musical projects, both his own critically acclaimed Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra and as a member of several prominent ensembles, ranging from tango to jazz. He has also participated in numerous jazz and music festivals throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
